We are Portobello Frames, a family run business with a passion for picture framing and art. Portobello Frames has been based on London’s famous Portobello Road since it began back in 1985 and still to this day has the desire to supply the best quality framing services we possibly can.

We stock a huge selection of framing samples, acid free mount boards and glass for customers to choose from.  With 30 years of framing expertise behind us - we can create the ideal frame to complement your artwork. We carry out work for private individuals, Artists, interior designers and top London galleries, all with the strong ethos of customer service, affordability and craftsmanship.

Portobello Frames also offers a range of readymade frames which can be taken away with you on the day. Ranging from 150x150mm to A2, the readymade frames are made with the same passion, quality and solid woods as any bespoke job we would do, you know they are good.

The is no need to book an appointment, so if you're thinking of popping in to see us, whether it is to get a quote, view the art or readymades or place an order, any day is good. However Friday and Saturday are the market days, so you can combine your visit with a whisk around the stalls on Portobello Road.



Our Story

1985 - Debbie started Portobello Frames at 320 Portobello Road

1987 - Debbie moved 2 doors down to 316 where Portobello Frames has been ever since.

1992 - Demand had increased massively with both the bespoke and readymade picture frames that Portobello Frames opened their first factory on Scrubs Lane and had gained their first wholesale contract.

1995 - In 1995 Portobello Frames also gained the contract to supply Habitat with their frames, this caused a move to larger factory outside London in Hertfordshire.

1997 - By 1997 Debbie had 27 full time staff and the contacts to John Lewis, Laura Ashley and many more making Portobello Frames on of the biggest Picture Framing companies in the UK.
